Another sightseeing day. Today we had a day off from our musical duties so we decided to go to Kamakura, which is about an hour away from Asakusa. It`s a quite huge area with numerous temples, shrines, turtles, snakes and beautiful landscape. The most amazing thing there is the enormous statue of Buddha. It rises up to fifteen metres and was built somewhere around the 12th century. It was quite stunning!

There was lots of walking to do so after all the hiking, checking out the temples and the Big Buddha we were pretty tired again, so went to spend some time to the beach. It was the first time here that we got to see the ocean. It was a cloudy day so there was hardly anyone on the beach except us. But the ocean was full of surfers, who didn’t mind the weather, just trying to catch the wave of their lives. It was a needed escape from the hectic inner city and we all had a chance to enjoy the silence, the presence of the ocean and have a moment just for ourselves. Beautiful.
